Lord Dhanvantari is regarded as the divine physician and the father of Ayurveda. According to Hindu tradition, he emerged from the ocean during the great Samudra Manthan holding a pot of Amrit , the sacred scriptures, and medicinal herbs. He is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who appeared to bless humanity with the knowledge of health, healing, and longevity. Worshipped as the supreme healer, Dhanvantari represents the balance of body, mind, and soul, and his blessings are sought for good health, strength, and freedom from disease.
